Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of self-efficacy, health attitudes and healthy lifestyles on recovery of people with mental disorders in the community.
Methods: Participants were 188 people with mental disorders receiving mental health services at community mental health welfare centers in the J province. The data were collected from May to June, 2018. Self-report questionnaires were used to measure general self-efficacy, health attitude scale, healthy lifestyles and recovery. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA with Scheffe? test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program.
Results: Self-efficacy, health attitudes, and healthy lifestyle of people with mental disorders were significant factors, explained about 72% of the variance on recovery.
Conclusion: These findings suggest that education programs and health promotion programs focused on healthy lifestyles, improving health attitudes, and self-efficacy should be developed for people with mental disorders to promote their recovery.
